  • Unlike traditional liposuction, which only addresses the abdomen, waist or back, lipo 360 is a more compressive procedure done on the entire torso so that a more contoured figure is achieved from all angles. 360-degree liposuction addresses the whole midsection, including the abs, hips, and back. The focus is on the final proportions rather than the amount of fat removed. 360-degree lipo includes liposculpture, which means that besides extracting fat cells, your surgeon will also reshape the remaining fat deposits into a beautiful and curvy silhouette you can show off pridefully when wearing skinny jeans or that swimming suit you swore you would never wear.

  • The BBL procedure combines two surgical methods into one, allowing patients to achieve a fuller, rounder, curvier backside, using a fat transfer. First, fat is removed from one area (typically called the donor area such as the midsection). The fat is then prepped and strategically injected into the patient’s backside. It gives patients the benefit of fat loss in the original area, plus a larger backside.

Who would be a good candidate for the BBL?

A good candidate is someone who:

    • Is in good overall health and wellness and can undergo surgery

    • Has good quality skin & tissue in the hip and buttocks- with high elasticity

    • Has a decent amount of fat in other areas in order to provide the enhancements looking for a more natural enhancement

  • A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty is a procedure used to remove excess fat and skin. In some cases, the procedure also restores weakened or separated muscle giving the stomach a flatter profile and contouring it to the patient’s desires. Although it does reduce the fat content of the stomach, it is generally used to tighten the stomach and removed excess, saggy skin. It can be performed alone or in conjunction with liposuction for those who have more belly fat and need a higher degree of correction.

  • Aging, genetics, and significant weight loss can all contribute to loose, excess skin under the upper arms. Often performed in combination with arm liposuction to remove excess fat, a brachioplasty (aka arm lift) is the most effective way to get rid of “bat wings.”

  • We offer multiple types of breast augmentations, including:

    MASTOPEXY (BREAST LIFT)

A mastopexy raises and reshapes the breast to give them a firmer, more rounded look. Excess skin around the breast is removed, and the size of the areola (the colored circle around your nipple) is often reduced.

    MAMMAPLASTY (BREAST REDUCTION)

Large breasts can sometimes become a source of both physical and mental pain or discomfort. If you find this to be the case, than breast reduction surgery may be an option for you.

In a breast reduction, excess skin, fat, and breast tissue can be removed to achieve the desired shape and size.

    FAT TRANSFER TO BREASTS

In a fat transfer to the breasts, liposuction is used to remove excess fat from an area such as the abdomen. The fat is then purified and inserted into the breast area. This procedure can be used to increase overall breast size, and to firm up breasts that sag.

Fat transfer to the breasts is often chosen by people who want a more natural route to larger and firmer breasts.

  • Rhinoplasty is an extremely complex surgical procedure with adjustments made on the order of millimeters. It takes years to develop the 'eye' that Dr. Santiago has to translate a patient's desires into reality. Dr. Santiago is one of the region's Top Rhinoplasty Surgeons having joined the Rhinoplasty Century Club (A Small Elite Group of Surgeons who have performed over 100 Rhinoplasties in their Career) Dr. Santiago is known for taking on the most difficult rhinoplasty cases, including patient's who have had 2, 3, and even 4 prior Rhinoplasty procedures.

He has experience performing Cosmetic Rhinoplasty on members of the media industry as well as reconstructive rhinoplasty surgery on battle injured US Navy SEALS.

    Open Rhinoplasty

In an open rhinoplasty procedure, a small external incision is made on the underside of the nose between the nostrils. Additional incisions are made on the inside of the nose that cannot be seen. An open rhinoplasty fully opens the nose, providing improved visualization of the nasal structures and a more direct route for surgical manipulation. The small scar left at the nose base is barely visible after the healing process.

    Endonasal Rhinoplasty

In an endonasal rhinoplasty, also known as closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made inside the nasal passages. These incisions are hidden and are not visible after surgery. Endonasal rhinoplasty offers a limited view of and dissection of nasal tissues.

  • Also known as submental liposuction or chin lipo, this procedure removes excess fat from under the chin and jawline, reducing the appearance of a “double chin” or jowls.

Excess chin fat can often resist diet and exercise, meaning even someone in good shape can have excess skin and fat in their chin area.

Chin lipo is often performed in combination with JPlasma skin tightening, which helps to create an even more defined jawline and chin region.

  • Moms aren’t the only ones who can get a mommy makeover! It can also benefit those who have had significant weight loss, or people looking to address multiple concerns at once.

A “mommy makeover” is actually just a combination of multiple procedures, and is personalized to fit each patient’s needs. It most commonly includes a tummy tuck and a breast augmentation. Depending on the patient, it may also include liposuction, a BBL, vaginal rejuvenation, and more.

  • The Glow Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics in McLean, Virginia is excited to be one of the first to offer Avéli for a meaningful and lasting reduction in cellulite dimples.

What is cellulite/why do I have cellulite?

Cellulite is a depression of any shape or size with defined edges seen on the surface of the skin, typically on the buttocks or thighs. A major underlying cause of cellulite are the fibrous bands that tether your skin to the structures below. These bands are called septa. Some septa are good (and you want them as connective tethers) but others stiffen or shrink over time and lead to the dimples we see on the surface and call cellulite.

It’s important to distinguish cellulite from other concerns like laxity or localized fat, which we can talk you through during a consultation in our office. You should also know that cellulite is not your fault (genetics and hormones play a role), and you are not alone- up to 90% of women have it.

What is an Avéli cellulite reduction treatment?

Avéli is a no-nonsense approach to treating cellulite based on a deep understanding of women’s anatomy. While many treatments approach cellulite blindly from the outside in, Avéli identifies and releases the primary structural causes of cellulite from the inside out in a minimally invasive procedure with little downtime.

How to reduce cellulite with Avéli:

Avéli is an option for a range of women across the cellulite severity spectrum. The procedure is performed by one of our trained providers and uses a handheld device to manually target and release the complicated web of septa bands causing cellulite dimples.

Avéli addresses the primary structural cause of cellulite in 3 steps:

    1. Your provider guides the Avéli device under the skin directly to the targeted dimples.

    2. After your provider identifies the culprit septa bands using a dimple, those septa are precisely released.

    3. Your provider can confirm their release in real-time, delivering visibly smoother skin quickly after the procedure.

    More Common Questions

Q: How do I know if Avéli is right for me?

A: If you are a woman looking for long-term reduction in cellulite dimples from a single, minimally invasive in-office procedure, Avéli could be for you! Schedule a consultation with us to determine if you are a candidate.

Q: Does Avéli only treat cellulite dimples?

A: Avéli treats the septa bands causing cellulite dimples. It is not a procedure that addresses other concerns often seen along cellulite, such as laxity (loose skin) or localized pockets of fat.

Q: Will I need multiple sessions?

A: Nope! During a single cellulite procedure, a provider can fully treat the targeted cellulite dimples on both buttocks and thighs.

Q: How long does the procedure take?

A: A typical procedure will take around an hour, including local anesthesia and the procedure itself. Exact timing will vary depending on the personalized procedure plan from your provider.

Q: Is there any downtime after the procedure?

A: Little to none. In the clinical study, most patients returned to normal activities within 24-48 hours.

Q: Are there any side effects?

A: In the clinical study, the most common side effects reported were mild pain within the first 24 hours and bruising and tenderness to the touch which typically resolved within 30 days. Small areas of firmness, usually not visible or painful, typically resolved in a couple of months.

Q: How quickly will I see improvement in my cellulite?

A: Avéli cellulite reduction results should be visible once swelling and bruising subsides. By one-month post-procedure you should start to see the effects of the procedure.

Q: Can I work out or exercise after the procedure?

A: It is recommended to avoid any strenuous activity or workouts in the first few days/weeks after the procedure to allow the area to heal. We will provide you with complete post-procedure expectations and recommendations.

Q: How long will the results last?

A: Participants in the clinical study demonstrated a lasting reduction in the appearance of their cellulite when assessed one year after the procedure.

Avéli is indicated for long-term reduction in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks and thigh areas of adult females as supported by clinical data demonstrating treatment benefits through one year of observation. The most common side effects reported were mild pain within the first 24 hours and bruising and tenderness to the touch which typically resolved within 30 days. Some patients returned to normal activities within one day of the procedure and most within a week. As with any medical procedure, there are risks associated with the procedure. Consult with your physician for full safety information.
